Laminated Beams

Laminated Beams

High Strength & Dimensional Stability

Ordered on request, laminated timber is far superior to solid timber due to its high strength and dimensional stability. Where solid timber posts and beams will crack and twist, a laminated Beam in the same size (and often smaller) will remain stable for many years as well as retaining its aesthetic appeal.

Glued laminated timber, or glulam, is a highly innovative construction material. It is a stress-rated engineered wood beam composed of wood laminations, or “lams”, that are bonded together with durable, moisture-resistant adhesives. The grain of the laminations runs parallel with the length of the member.
